Once you choose your faction, the choice is permanent. If you plan on playing with your friends, agree with them on a chosen faction before creating your character.
Changing the faction is only possible by wiping the account. You can wipe your account directly from the main menu. The first manual wipe can be done at any time, but there is a waiting period of 7 days before your account can be wiped again.
