Hey everyone!
The Rogue Ops update for Gray Zone Warfare is officially here! And with it, we are introducing brand-new gameplay features and multi-character creation.
We understand that with new features, new questions may arise, so we've gathered some FAQ about 0.5 perks and individualities worth checking out below:
Why do I need to create an account and select the game mode?
As soon as you open the game, this will be the first thing you’ll be requested to do. With update 0.5, character names are separate from your account name, and characters are locked into a game mode, similar to how they are locked to a faction.
A pop-up warning will inform you that your first step is to create your Game account and choose a name. Your previous name is reserved for you if you want to keep using it. This name has to be unique and will be displayed to other players.
In the next step, you choose the appearance of your transferred character and give it a name. You can use the same name as your account or choose a different one. Character names don't have to be unique, but they cannot be the same for each of your characters. Then, you choose which game mode you want to play (Warfare PvEvP or Joint Operations PvE). Your character stays in the faction you chose in update 0.4.
I would like to change my character's faction. What should I do?
The character faction cannot be changed and remains the same as what you used during the 0.4 update. The only thing that changes when coming to 0.5 Rogue Ops is the game mode selection. If you'd like to play in a different faction, create a new character in the Operator selection menu.
How many operators can I create?
Four. They can be named individually, each with their own game modes and faction selection. Just bear in mind that it will not be possible to have more than one character with the same faction + game mode combination simultaneously.
I want to start from zero and do the starter town and quests again, even with an old account. Is it possible?
Yes, simply create a new character and make sure you mark ‘Yes’ to repeat the prologue on the newly created character. If you want to stay in the same faction and game mode as before, delete the transferred character first.
I don’t see the Wipe button anymore in the Main Menu; is this a bug?
No, wiping a character is no longer possible in 0.5. Instead, you can simply create a new character with the new faction or mode if you want to progress from the start again, or delete an existing character completely.
Why can’t I delete my character?
You can delete one character per week. This is to prevent possible exploits, as you cannot have two characters with the same combination of game mode and faction at the same time.
What about my DLC gear? Is it restricted to one character only?
No. Every character you create will receive the DLC rewards in Handshake’s chat message after the tutorial is finished, or right away if you choose to skip the prologue.
And what about my Twitch Drops? How will they work with multiple characters?
Similar to your DLC items, but it's important to note they're not the same. The drops are connected to your account, and you’ll be able to claim your appearance items on all characters (these are shirts, gloves, trousers, boots, and patches). Consumable items can be claimed only on one character.
I skipped the prologue, gained a bunch of experience and reputation, and did nothing. Is this a bug?
Not a bug. If you have already completed the quests and progression in the starter town on another character, you have the option to skip the prologue and receive the experience and progression for it automatically.
I don’t have Hideout unlocked. When will it open?
If Hideout is not unlocked yet, work on leveling up your vendor's reputation! The Hideout unlocks for you when your character reaches rank 2 with Lab Rat and Artisan, and rank 3 with Banshee.
What will happen to my Statistics if I have more characters in 0.5?
The data in your statistics tab will be linked to the account, not per character. This means that all your actions across all characters will influence your account’s statistics.
This article will be updated if more questions arise. And you can be a part of it by submitting your questions, too!
