First of all, please make sure that you always start the game using Steam or a Steam shortcut (do not start it from the game folder). Then, please follow these troubleshooting steps and try to run the game after each section:
Reboot your PC and log in again to Steam
Verify game files from Steam:
- Open your Steam Library
- Right-click on Gray Zone Warfare
- Select Properties
- Navigate to Installed Files
- Click Verify integrity of game files
Delete the Steam folder in /AppData/Local and relaunch Steam:
- Exit Steam completely (check if it's not running in the System tray)
- Using keyboard shortcut Windows key + R, open the Run menu
- Paste in the following %localappdata% and press Enter
- Delete the Steam folder in /AppData/Local
- Re-launch Steam and log in
Verify that Easy Anti-Cheat and Gray Zone Warfare are not running as administrators
- Check GZWClientEAC:
- Right-click Gray Zone Warfare in the Steam Library
- Select Manage
- Click on Browse local files
- Locate and right-click GZWClientEAC.exe
- Click Properties
- Go to the Compatibility tab and make sure the "Run as administrator" option is NOT checked.
- Check GZWClientSteam-Win64-Shipping:
- Right-click Gray Zone Warfare in the Steam Library
- Select Manage
- Click on Browse local files
- Open the GZW folder
- Go to Binaries
- Open Win64 folder
- Locate and right-click GZWClientSteam-Win64-Shipping
- Click Properties
- Go to the Compatibility tab and make sure the "Run as administrator" option is NOT checked.
Run Steam as Administrator:
- Locate steam.exe on your computer (by default, it's in the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam)
- Right-click and select Properties
- Go to the Compatibility tab
- Check Run as administrator
- Click Apply and OK
Disconnect all non-essential peripherals:
- It is possible that an external device is causing Steam to malfunction. External input devices require specific drivers that can interfere with Steam. We recommend unplugging all non-essential input devices from your computer to eliminate the possibility that they are interfering
